Hickin came round tonight after I finished up exam studying an we went for a skate on the longboards down to Rundle park right next to the city. There are soo many long windy smooth tracks there to skate it was awsome, and theres a big lake thing with ducks and stuff which was pretty cool. We skated for a good 2 hours till like 12 through the three parks there and found some good runs, it feels kinda like snowboarding on concrete real smooth and carvy. Loving ridin my new bamboo flexy longboard its rad, even met some nice girls that were hanging out on the swings. Life is good.
About two months back now we had a couple days of hard rain that went on and on filling up the catchments around town. Coming home from uni I got a call from a couple of the guys saying they found some sic spots they wanted to hit up with the winch and it was game on. First spot we hit was a pond in the middle of this huge public park right next to town, it stank really bad but Tristo got in there for a few runs on the wakeskate until the Council guys came and told us we should probably leave.
After that we headed to a stormwater catchment which was nice and grassy and had plenty of room to move, but it was only a couple inches deep. There was a bit of a construction yard next door and we managed to jump the fence and sweet talk the guys there into 'lending' us some stuff to play with.. First we just ollied over a 44 gallon drum, then we decided to up the stakes and make a bit of a kicker with a big steel sheet.
It was pretty rad and booty and we got some good hits till I got hung up spinning backwards and fell on my shoulder pretty hard snapping my collar bone. That kinda killed the mood so we packed up and headed down to the hospital so they could sling me up.
